The passing of P.J.McCluskey even though we knew he was fighting a losing battle with his illness was hard to take. All who knew him were shocked and saddened.
P.J. was a character who loved his pitch and putt and the Lucan course, which he took great pride in. He would protect it from all who wanted to harm it.
He also loved the annual day out to Stackallen where he would take to the floor[cigar in hand but not lighting]and give his rendition of "That Old Black Magic".
He was also always on hand to have the tea and biscuits ready for the ladies after they finished their competition on Saturday afternoons during the winter.
Using different clubs was a passion to P.J. and he was always showing you the new putter or wedge he got from America, and then telling you after a while he was going back to his "old One".
Sadly missed by all the members of Lucan Pitch and Putt club.
