Lucan Captain, Johnny Price, will be Lucan's only representative at this year's National Gents Matchplay in the picturesque Claycastle, Co. Cork. Johnny overcame surprise package Marcus Purcess (R.G.S.C.) who pushed him all the way to the 35th hole on the final night of qualifying in C.P.M.
1988 and 1989 Champion David Hayden, suffered a heartbreaking defeat on the third tie hole against Portmarnock's Tom Ryan who had dashed Steven Keegan's hopes in the previous round. |  Johnny Price |
