News | AGM reconven 17th December 2024 | Posted on 29 Nov '24 by Barbara Furlong | | Dear Members,
Due to the absence of the nominations for the position of Honorary Secretary during our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, November 28th, a decision was made to temporarily suspend the meeting with the intention to reconvening at a later date. This decision was taken in order to ensure we remain compliant with the Pitch and Putt Ireland constitution, which mandates that ALL clubs have a Chairperson, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasure.
Pitch and Putt Ireland Constitution:
3. A Club shall consist of a Chairman, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasure, together with at least twelve adult members. The officers and all members shall be registered in accordance with Section 59 of the Constitution.
As the AGM was not concluded, the outgoing committee will continue to oversee the club's operations, including competitions and social events including the bar until the reconvened AGM is finalised.
Obviously, this situation cannot persist indefinitely. To address this, the outgoing committee plan to reconvene the AGM at 8.00pm on Tuesday, December 17th. The meeting will be completed on this date, regardless of whether a volunteer has stepped forward to assume the mandatory role of Honorary Secretary or not.
However, should the position of Honorary Secretary remain unfilled, ALL club activities will be suspended after the Club Christmas night on Saturday, December 21st until a candidate is appointed. This suspension will include the cessation of competitions including Winter Leagues, Social events and the club bar will close.
Additionally, we require an Honorary Registrar, without this position being filled, members will be unable to register for the upcoming season starting on March 1st. We also have the positions of Lady Captain and Vice Lady Captain unfilled. We encourage members to consider volunteering for these important roles.
Yours in Sport,
Lucan Pitch and Putt Club Committee. |
