| National Matchplay qualifying - Preliminary Round | ||||

| The opening night of qualifying for the 2012 National Gents Matchplay Championships got underway last night in C.P.M. and Shandon respectively. It was a night of mixed fortune for Lucan players with 3 progressing into Round 1 proper, while an unlucky 2 seen their hopes dashed. On the Southside of the city the night started with a positive when Johnny Price received a walkover, however things quickly turned sour when Anthony Malone was defeated by Loughlinstown's Gary Healy. Steven Keegan booked his place in Round 1 proper with a victory over Glenville's Anto Gray while Darren Kane emerged victorious over club mate John Kenny. There were no Lucan players involved in preliminary action on the Northside draw. Play continues tonight with the following Lucan players in action: @ C.P.M.
