Yes what a super way to finish the winter leagues with two teams evenly matched which produced a thrilling final.The final between starting favorites Billy Blake's "Players" and Kathleen Croke's fighters "Golden Oldies" Started of with Billys team taking both doubles leaving Kathleen's team struggling to gain form.In the singles it was a different matter with the Golden Oldies taking three singles to tie the match and take it into a nine hole singles play-off between Billy Blake and the determined Michael Monahan.This match also lived up to the thrilling pitch and putt played so far and the in form Michael beating Billy on the ninth hole after a tit for tat game with both players giving it their all.
Well done to all the supporters who braved the cool morning air but they were rewarded with some super pitch and putt and closely fought games.
The winning team was Kathleen Croke,Michael Stratford,John Forde and Michael Monahan.
The runners up were Billy Blake,Tracey Smith,Alyn Poleon and Keith Maher.
