Des Corway R.I.P.

Posted on 4 Aug '23 by Maria Rooney

Lucan Pitch and Putt Club acknowledge with much respect and sadness the passing of Des Corway from this life on Thursday 3rd August. Des was the first chairperson of our Club and one of the pioneers of Lucan Pitch and Putt Club. So many members over many decades of years have benefited in various ways because of the determination and creativity of the pioneers of our Club. The records of our Club may show that Des was not one of the high achievers in the sport of Pitch and Putt but in what is so equally important Des gave his service to the administration of our Club. Des was a trustee of our Club, a position that kept him abreast of its most recent developments and changes.

Des was very fortunate to be blessed with good health in mind and body until very recent times. Though not seen around our Clubhouse and course he maintained a keen interest in the welfare of Lucan Pitch and Putt Club, stoutly proud of it continuing to be acknowledged as progressive and successful at Regional and National level.

The members of Lucan Pitch and Putt Club would like to extend their deepest sympathy to Des's children - Olive, Marie and Desmond and his extended family.
