Week three of the winter leagues got underway last Sunday with the ladies determined to add to their haul of scalps, and yes they continued their quest taking four singles and a doubles. The singles-- Barbara Furlong lashed Tony McDonnell,Evelyn o'Gorman got her second scalp by beating Paddy Monahan,Catherine Leonard crushed Dave Montgomery and Angela Shanahan whacked Noel Ryan.In the doubles Catherine and Barbara whipped Dave Montgomery and our Hon.Sec.Peter Keogh.
Well done to Joe Murphy avoiding an embarrassing treble scalp when he beat the odds on favorite Tracey Smith in a very close match.

In Group 1 there were no real suprises with Billy Blakes team beating Brenda Purcell's lads 7-5,and Christy Kane's side beating Dan Coady's bunch with the same score.Dan's team lead the group at the moment with 17 points with one more match played ahead of Christy's side.

In group 2 we had two shock 12-0 results with Tony McDonnell's poodles hammered by Barbara Furlong's bulldogs and Philip Sweeney's tigers beating Paul Dillon's pussy cats.Mick Purcell's lads beat Pat Blake's girls 7-5.Leading this section are Philips Sweeney's tigers with a massive 31 points.

In group 3 the massacre in this group was Philo Condron's sharks winning 10-2 against Des Sheridan's flatfish,Johnny Price's dream team continues their quest to qualify for the knockout stages by beating Bernie Blakes team 7-5[Mr Flannery is due back this weekend, will he make a difference!!].Donal Callaghan's mashers beat the ever present Stephen Keegan's muckspreaders 7-5.Leading this group at the moment are the Dream Team on 24 points.

In group 4 Kathleen Croke's Mauraders are leading the pack with two 12-0 victories,Paddy Crokes Eagles swooped and beat the hapless Gerry Hennessy's beakless budgies 10-2.Mick Duffy's Bears beat Dora Keane's cubs 9-3.
Interesting match in this group next Sunday when we will see husband versus wife -Paddy Croke playing Kathleen. Can Kathleen take Paddy's scalp!!!
