News | Club Strokeplay a success | | | D.Kane B.Furlong M.Monahan A.Shanahan M.Donnelly M.Rooney | | Posted on 7 May '12 by Noel Leonard | | The 2012 Club Strokeplay turned out to be a great success with a super turn out and some nice weather to compete in.
The Gents Senior grade was won by Darren Kane with a score of 144 after 54 holes narrowly beating Terry McMorrow in a sudden death hole on the fourth hole after a three hole play-off was tied with both players two under par.
In the Ladies Senior grade Barbara Furlong [166] beat Kathleen Croke [170] in a closely fought match with both players on the same score going into the play-off.
The Gents Intermediate grade was won by Michael Monahan with a great score of 152 beating Barry Aird and Tony Gallagher in the play-off and in the Ladies Angela Shanahan [186] beat Catherine Leonard [196] in the play-off.
The Gents Junior grade was won by Michael Donnelly [164] after some super scoring in his first rounds, Michael shot a 61 and a 46 which proves that you should never give up. He beat Tom O'Hare into the runner up spot, Tom scored a 168.
The Ladies Junior grade was won by our lady vice captain Maria Rooney [208] beating Dora Keane [234] into second spot.
