News | Jim Price - R.I.P. | Posted on 8 May '21 by Maria Rooney | | This weekend the Lucan community mourns the loss of one of its most senior residents in learning that Jim Price left this world on Friday last. Jim gave expression in his daily life to all the fine attributes that one knows and expects from a true gentleman and he will be kindly remembered by all those people whose lives he touched.
In our close knit community in the Pitch and Putt Club we have lost a true gent whose association with our Club stretches back to its early days over 40 years ago. Jim was one who played the pitch and putt for all the positives it can bring to your life - laughter, enjoyment, friendship and the sense of being belonging to a Club where each person matters and is respected. Jim was a regular Sunday morning player, supporting our weekend competition. Everybody enjoyed his company and was delighted to share their game with him irrespective of which Club competition it was.
Yes our Club mourns Jim's passing this weekend. He has lived to see the Club go through many phases of change - the development of our course to a standard that is envied by many clubs, the building of our modern clubhouse and many changes of personnel, but I'm sure he would be proud to say that Lucan Pitch and Putt membership continues to show care and respect for each of its members. Jim no doubt was equally proud to know that his family name in Lucan Pitch and Putt is each year honourably carried on by his son Johnny and that his long association with the Club will no doubt be remembered well into the distant future.
The Club membership and committee wish to extend their deepest sympathy to Johnny and the Price family at the sad passing of their dear Dad - Jim (RIP).
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dhílis.
