Agnes Dignam R.I.P.

This weekend we have learned of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Agnes Dignam. Agnes who was a member of our Club for forty plus years passed away this day Sunday 4th October after a relatively short illness. We as a Club extend our deepest sympathies to her husband Adrian, to her three sons Ciarán, Conor, and Paul and to her extended family. Agnes served our Club as Lady Captain in 1995 and President from 2001 to 2003 and also worked tirelessly as a committee member.
Agnes was a person who epitomised the idiom of being an active member of our Club. Pitch and Putt was a part of her life that gave her such enjoyment of being active, involved and making a difference to her own life and a positive contribution to those people to whom the sport brought her in contact with. Agnes will be sadly missed in our Club and remembered for all the ways she involved herself in our membership including as a fellow player at weekends, be it a Saturday or Sunday, be it Winter Leagues or Club-fourball, her presence on the course was such a constant. It will be remembered how particular Agnes was in the many years she gave to purchasing the support prizes for our major competitions. Detail and correctness of choice of prizes for both the Ladies and Gents in the different grades was foremost in her mind in the many shops and stores she visited to purchase those prizes.
Hopefully Agnes will be rewarded as she is united now with the Lord above for the many years she coordinated the timing of our Club's Annual Remembrance Mass for deceased members. The pearly gates will surely be open for her.
