Winter League
Well we had the climax of the Winter League last Sunday and it lived up to a great final. The Diggers went into an early lead by winning the two foursomes but Paddy's Pirates came out of the blocks with a bang and secured the first two singles matches with Pady Croke beating Damien Creevey and Patsy Blake beating Steven Keegan. This brought the teams all square and it was down to both the oldest and youngest members of the Diggers team to secure the win. As per her form all during the Winter League Agnes Dignam played some superb pitch and putt to beat Trish Anderson. It was down now to Steven Needham and this match went to the 18th hole before Steven got the better of Marie O'Toole to secure the back to back wins for the Diggers.
Winning the Winter League two years in a row is such a tremendous achievement in our Club when especially it is one of most enjoyable competitions of the year and one of the most coveted.
Well done to both teams and thank you to all the spectators who supported the teams on the day. It was great to see Carol Hynes, Dave Hayden and Rudy Keegan enjoying the game on Sunday.
Thank you to our sponsor Halpenny Golf for sponsoring this competition once again.

Wishing you Well
Our Pitch and Putt Club would like to acknowledge the very sad and untimely news of Fr. John's ill health last weekend. Fr. John over the years has been one of our Club's strong supports - our annual invitee to our Club Captains function and has always given such a special meaning on the occasion of our Annual Mass for deceased members. We extend to you Fr. John our most sincere wishes and prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
