Rose Thompson RIP

Posted on 28 Oct '17 by Maria Rooney

It is with great sadness that our Club acknowledges the passing from this life of one of its earliest members in the history of Lucan Pitch and Putt Club - Rose Thompson.

Rose was one of those ladies who laid the groundwork for the Ladies Membership in our Club and was a renowned and well respected player of our game and at all times held the admiration and grace of her opponents. Over many years Rose contributed tirelessly on committee in our Club and was Lady Captain in 1971. This weekend Lucan Pitch and Putt Club bids its final farewell to Rose who has written herself into the history of our Club as a great exponent of the game.

The committee and members wish to extend to the family of Rose Thompson their deepest sympathy at the sudden death of Rose.

THOMPSON (Née Dignam), Rose (Esker, Lucan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Dodsboro, Lucan) October 26th 2017 (peacefully) in her beloved County Clare. Wife of the late Joe and dear mother of Maurice and Lesley. Sadly missed by her loving son, daughter, brother Jim, grandchildren Joseph and Sam, son-in-law Anthony, daughter-in-law Susan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Rest in Peace

Reposing at her home on Sunday evening from 5pm to 8pm. Removal to St. Mary's Church, Lucan on Monday morning arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am followed by burial in Esker Cemetery.
