It was a close match from the get go when both teams got a doubles win each. The first singles match was Seve McGrath and Johnny Price which saw Seve winning and putting his team in the lead. The next 2 points on the board came from Dylan Colclough after he beat Kathleen Croke and guaranteeing his team a play off at worst. Alan Doyle took his team over the line then after he beat Mick Monahan. This was Seve's first time to take home the Winter Leagues Cup and a great debut for this freshly put together team.
Well done to Seve, Dylan, Alan and Adrienne on their victory and hard luck to Kathleen and her team. Fair play to all the supporters who turned up in the horrible conditions. Unfortunately there are no scalps to report in this years final!
A big thank you to Halpenny Golf for their kind sponsorship of this competition. | |
