| Five Lucan Gents reach Leinster Matchplay finals | ||||

| The qualifying rounds for the Leinster Gents Matchplay Championships were held in Loughlinstown on Saturday morning. Lucan managed to get five players through to the finals which will take place in Ringcommons & Bellewstown over the weekend of May 14th & 15th. Having originally looked destined to play each other, Keith Redmond and Anthony "Skinner" Malone progressed from the Senior grade qualifying rounds having avoided one another following a re-draw. Lucan would only have one qualifier in the Intermediate section with Jack King progressing to the finals for the first time at this level. Finally, in the Junior grade, Jay Condron beat club mate Danny Kilduff to progress to the finals alongside matchplay specialist Stephen Needham. Congratulations to the five qualifiers and we wish them, and the Ladies who automatically qualify, the very best of luck in the finals. All support will be welcome in Ringcommons & Bellewstown. | ||||
