Winter Leagues

This years winter leagues have been sponsored by Halpenny Golf.

Semi Finals
Sunday last saw the semi finals of the leagues on; a windy and wet day. All four teams were in great form as all games and matches were very close.

Semi final 1 was between The Phillipos and the Winter Warriors and this match went down to the very last game. After the doubles the Phillipos led the match 3-1. In the singles the first match was between replacement Paul Dillon and Lady Vice-captain Linda unfortunately no; scalp with Paul winning the match. Then it was Dave Lee against Danny Kilduff and it was Danny who played fantastic to beat Dave. John Byrne and Frank Loakman shared the spoils, this result meant the last match was the decider with the Phillipos neading only a half and the Winter Warrios needing a win to drag the match into a play-off but it was to be the Phillipos day with the match heading to the last hole Sandra Keogh beat Paul County to gain match point and the all important scalp.

Semi final 2 featured The Fridge Magnets and Langans Ball. After the doubles the match was still very close at 3-1, going into the singles both teams were in with a shout of winning. The fridge magnets replacement Gerry Ward Beat Gents Vice captain Terry O'shaughnessy in a very close game. Next up was Jay Condron and Peter Anderson whos match went to the final hole and it was Peter who held his nerve to win. Philo Condron got the Scalp over Andy Fitzgerald and unfortunately Fionna Langan couldnt gain a scalp versus Peter Fitzgerald to bring the match to a playoff leaving the Fridge magnets victorious and move on; to the final.

The Gents Day Out
Please note in order to secure your place on the Gents Day Out to Ryston, a deposit of €10 must be paid on or before Sunday, February 21st.

Full payment must be made by Sunday, March 6th.

Payment will be accepted by Noel Leonard, Terry O'Shaughnessy or Michael O'Gorman.

Womans Day Out
Money for the ladies day out to be paid to Bernie Blake, Kathleen Croke or Brenda Purcell


Friday Nights
This friday Val's Chase The joker with the jackpot now carrying over €290.
Friday nights Darts Competitions rún by Seve McGrath and Val Poleon. All members welcome up for a great night with lots of fun and now a few quid up for grabs.

12th of March gents and ladies day out come and join us in the club after with DJ Flano
19th March is our Drive-In weekend and we will celebrate the start of the new season with Strike 2

2nd April our first Presentation night of the Drive-In and the Easter Classic with music from John Collins
