The National Matchplay is taking place this June Bank Holiday weekend down in Lakeside Pitch & Putt, Templemore, co.Tipperary.

Chris Gallagher is the only Lucan gent that qualified for the matchplay and he is playing Anthony Culhane from Tipperary Hills in the first round. This match is due to start shortly before 11am on Saturday.

In the ladies we have three playing - Philo Condron, á McDonnell and Linda Thomson. á is out just after 12.30pm and is playing Geraldine Edwards from Fairview C.Y. Philo is out a few matches after and is taking on Sarah Byrne from Fermoy. Linda is playing at 1.10pm and is playing Tracey McGrath from Erry.

The draw is available on the PPUI website where it can be seen that there are a few interesting matches. The standard of pitch and putt never disappoints in this competition and Lakeside will be no exception. The course is looking brilliant and it is a great spectator's course also so all support welcome! Thanks in advance to the Lucan supporters that are making the trip down to Tipp at the weekend (It is a long way after all!). The very best of luck to everyone playing, especially our own!
