Condolences

Posted on 24 Feb '24 by Maria Rooney

The committee and members of Lucan Pitch and Putt Club wish to extend their sincere sympathies to Glenda Hoey on the death of her Dad Aidan Hoey (R.I.P.) Our thoughts are with the family at this very sad time. May Aidan's gentle soul rest in peace.

Hoey, Aidan “Aido” (of Clogher Rd., Crumlin, Dublin 12 and formerly of Home Villas, Donnybrook, Dublin 4) passed away peacefully 16 February 2024 in the care of the dedicated staff at Elmgreen Nursing Home and in the loving embrace of his devoted wife of 63 years, Marian. Beloved dad of Colin, Graham, Glenda, and Robin; father-in-law to Audrey and Tina; grandfather of Sarah, Loren, Adam, Glen, Graham, Daragh, Ross, and Jamie; great-grandfather of Hugo; brother of Nuala, Tony, Ann and Eileen.

Goalkeeper, lawn bowler, marathon runner, painter, gardener, nature lover, long-suffering Baggies fan; a quiet and gentle man at heart with a disarming smile and a dash of quicksilver mischief and mirth always at hand. Sorely missed. Lovingly remembered by family, friends and neighbours.

Rest in peace.

A memorial and celebration-of-life service will be held in Mount Argus Church at 11:30am on Wednesday, the 6th of March.
